Carlton Hair Salon Review and coupon!!

As you all know Mom’s neglect themselves and give everything to their kids so I had the opportunity to review Carlton Hair  Salons. I was super excited because they have Salons and Spas throughout California and I got to check them out!! I am a girl who once upon a time love to get her hair done and look cute too!! I mean, I am a fashion teacher, I should look a little fashionable too!!

I was happy to check out the San Diego Fashion Valley location and get my highlights and Lowlights and haircut!! Finally!!

Here is my before:

Eek!! Yes, I have a mess of a mop going on, My hair is a mousy brown and sun bleached a bit as well, damaged is understated. So with my thin fine hair I went down to test out the skills!! In my defense we had swim lessons that day and I did not dry my hair.

The Review:

First off, there are different levels of stylists at the salon. There are mentors and then a scaled down to the less experienced people in the salon and each person charges  less accordingly, if that makes sense. Since I was doing a review I just scheduled and was set up with a mentor. I did not mention I was reviewing. I had a appointment with John, super experienced and very knowledgeable. I was very happy with the result. My hair looks fuller, shinier and I love the color, but that pic will come later!!

My hair looks great and I was instructed not to was for 48 hours in order to help the color set! So, That is what I am doing!

The salon was clean, very nice modern setting and not too loud. Since I am a mom, that is good because freight trains could run next to my house and I would not hear them with my 3 boys at some points throughout my day.  I like being brought water  or a magazine to read while waiting too, it was great being pampered.

My whole look too about 2 1/2 hours to do so if you don’t have a lot of time make sure you let someone know. I was okay letting Grandma babysit during naptime though. If not I may have hurried something along. The color was what took so long.

The cut was great, John gave me a similar Aline cut to what I had but gave some depth to my hair and it looks great.

As a SAHM, John’s prices may have been too high for normal for me but the highlights and lowlights(not including the cut only cost $115 which is good for San Diego. The cut was $78 on top of that, It was a fantastic cut and I love my new hair but I may have a hard time paying that again! I will however try out a stylist lower on the totem pole! I do love that they are in Fashion Valley, tons of parking and easy to get to on the theatre side of Fashion Valley, bottom level. Not totally inside the mall either which I liked.

Overall, they were great and I really wanted some Bumble & Bumble products as well, they carry the whole line, so yummy!
